About the Gallery
Over the Mantel (OTM) Gallery was founded March 13, 2014, in Columbia, South Carolina by Julia Moore. As an artist and educator, Julia’s vision was to spread awareness throughout the growing population of her hometown of the availability of fine art paintings by Columbia artists. Julia recruited Julie Coffey, a career marketing executive, to lead operations. During the ensuing decade, OTM gained acclaim as an award-winning*, woman-owned and operated small business under sequential ownership by Julia Moore, 2014-2022 and Julie Coffey, 2023-present. Julie & Julia attribute the ultimate success of OTM to the belief and trust bestowed upon them by each artist that graces their walls with masterful compositions.
Representing 30 artists local to Columbia and based throughout the Southeast, OTM displays a variety of genres, mediums and subjects. OTM’s singleness of purpose is steadfast, to offer original fine art paintings at reasonable prices.
